A memecoin can move ten or twenty per cent in an evening, and when that is the coin on the table, you are placing two bets at once: one on the wheel, which has a known edge of 2.7 per cent, and one on the price, which has no edge, no payout table and no limit. The first bet is settled every spin. The second runs the whole session and settles only when you swap the coin or withdraw it. Most players track the first and forget the second, which is why a session that wins on the wheel can end with less money than it started.

The session below shows the two bets pulled apart. A player deposits the equivalent of 500 dollars in a memecoin at most crypto roulette sites and plays even money bets at ten dollars a spin for three hours. Figures are checked at the end of each hour.

Hour one

  • Wheel result – Sixty spins, 33 wins and 27 losses. The balance is up six units, 60 dollars, or 12 per cent on the wheel alone.
  • Price result – The coin has risen by four per cent since the deposit.
  • Combined – The balance in coins is worth 560 dollars at the deposit price and 582 dollars at the current one. Both bets are winning, and the player sees a single number going up.

Hour two

  • Wheel result – Another sixty spins, 29 wins and 31 losses. The wheel gives back two units, so the session is up four units, 40 dollars, or 8 per cent.
  • Price result – The coin has fallen 15 per cent from the deposit price.
  • Combined – The balance in coins is worth 540 dollars at the deposit price and 459 dollars at the current one. The wheel bet is still winning. The price bet has lost 81 dollars, twice what the wheel has won all night.

Hour three

  • Wheel result – Sixty spins, 30 wins and 30 losses. Level on the hour, so the session finishes up four units, 40 dollars.
  • Price result – The coin closes 22 per cent below the deposit price.
  • Combined. 540 dollars of coins at the deposit price is 421 dollars at cash-out. The player beat the wheel by 8 per cent over 180 spins, a strong night, and walked away 79 dollars down.

The two bets can be separated, and the separation takes one step. Swap the memecoin to a stablecoin inside the casino before the first spin, and the price bet is closed before the wheel bet opens. The 500 dollars stays 500 dollars, the 40 dollar wheel profit stays 40 dollars, and the session ends up 40 dollars. Swap back afterwards if you want to hold the coin again, and you have taken the price bet only for the minutes the swap took.

Left together, the two bets do not add up the way they look on screen. The wheel bet is small, frequent and slightly negative. The price bet is large, single and could go either way by more than the wheel can move in a week. On a night when the price rises, the coin flatters a losing session. On a night when it falls, it buries a winning one. Neither result says anything about how you played, which is the reason to settle the price bet before the wheel starts.
